I agree. It's been a long time since we had a "true" center. I'm hopeful that we pick someone up before next season. He doesn't need to be a stud, just serviceable and I'd be happy.

And fuck Snickers. Kit Kat is the way to go. Agreed. He just needs to not be a Jarred Jeffries or Eddy Curry. |

Glad to see the MB NBA thread guys again, I'm back from my month long stay in MB jail
The new CBA stuff looks really bad. I can honestly see no season happening next year. I'll be devastated if that happens, but the two sides are hundred of millions of dollars apart. I just can't see them closing the gap. The owners are gonna take a page out of the NHL's playbook where they locked out for an entire season and got the owners a great deal. Players have no leverage at all here and they are gonna have to really lower what they want if they wanna play next year. It's all a shame because this was the best NBA year in over a decade. The Decision really made the NBA must-watch TV even for non-NBA junkies. Quote:

This CBA could really hurt teams. I'm thinking a hard cap will be installed and teams are gonna have a hard time adding pieces for a few years. I think the Heat will benefit the most to be honest, because I don't think teams will be able to form these super squads after the new CBA. And for all the talk of teh heat needing to add guys, I think it's a load of shit. They got to game 6 of the Finals and probably could have swept the series if LBJ wouldn't have fell asleep and they could have closed out game 2. And they did it with the Big 3 and a group of guys they threw together. |

I think one reason it's turned into a guards league is because of the way guys have figured out how to draw fouls. I mean, guys have always done it, but I'm seeing things now I haven't seen in the past. Like D-Wades transition cross step. Where his first step will be with his right foot across his body. It's a defensive foul every time. Offensive guys throw their bodies into defenders way more than I remember seeing in the 90s and they get the calls most the time too. So many guys make their living at the foul line. |

I think defenses have gotten better at defending the low post too. There is a double team almost every time a skilled big man catches the ball on the block and you can't double team guards like you can bigs. It really forces the big men to be complete players and be able to pass. When I heard Shaq to TBS I had to laugh. Between Barkley, Shaq, and Kenny Smith this might be the loudest show on television lol. Kenny Smith screams into the camera. I like the TBS crew though, probably more than the ESPN crew because Magic Johnson is a terrible analyst in my opinion. TBS doesn't analyze all that much but at least it's a good laugh and doesn't take itself real serious. |
