I hope the guy gets 45 points and, the shot at the buzzer to win the game. Im not a Lebron fan boy at all, but I do enjoy watching someone with talent showcase their ability when the game is at the most intense of moments in athletic competitions. I really dont think anyones forgot Lebrons efforts in the Chicago series it just that he's going to be expected to perform at that level for the entirety of the playoffs, and finals. Its just the pedastal Americas placed him, and they're expections for him on, and until he lives up to them with multi extraordinary perfomances in playoff games resulting in winning championship rings he will continue to carry the burden he does now. Lebron is held to a higher standard than most cause fans, analysts, and even his self consider him to be the best player in the league. Factor in the decision to leave Cleveland, and join up with the amount of talent the Heat have, and that fuels the fire and expectations that were already almost impossible of acheiving in the first place. Whether he's accepted that role or not thats the hand he's been dealt and the degree of play thats expected when the heat is on, on the biggest stage there is to play on. Im guilty myself in all honesty of looking for that next guy to be Jordan like in the playoffs, and deliver those moments of almost immortal type play. If anyone has the tools to do it its him, and I hope to see it in game 5.

I know it's day 2, but this Grantland website has been pretty awesome so far.
Two views on Dirk Nowitzki as the lone hero in the 2011 NBA Finals - Grantland

it's hard to win when your best player turns into a decoy in the final moments. this LBJ stuff has me stupefied. having said that, I'm really glad and I hope the Mavs win the series so it forces LBJ to improve his game.

I give up I dont have the slightest clue from day to day what to expect from any team or player. Im not sure what to think anymore about Miami anymore but Dallas's three point game did show up tonight. Dallas played exzactly how they needed to to win and still Miami wasnt that far behind them. When you shoot a crazy 66% from the field in the first half and your only up by three you know your opponents no joke. Of course it goes to Miami's home court now and im sure they will take the next game . As far as Lebron im not even going to look for him to do anything other than what he has been doing, cause as sure as I stop expecting fireworks from him thats when he will shock the world. The Heat should have known sooner or later the Mavs perimeter shooting would improve like it did tonight and they would regret not capitalizing on the chances to put the last game away. Now they're the ones playing catch up

I think the Mavs are gonna close them out next game. They finally have everyone playing a team game. Dirk was the main focus for the first couple games, and now they are back to focusing on team ball. Lebron who? |

We'll see shortly. Every game has been really tight and down to the last five minutes. I think Miami is gonna press a little bit now, lets see if the nerves get to them. You can be pissed about a performance or let it go, if they stay pissed thats to their detriment on the floor. Looking forward to it myself, the last couple games have been enjoyable. NBA action is still fantastic.
