I was thinking about how some team might be able to upset the Patriots, and then the more I thought about it, the more I realized they will probably win every game by at least 14 points.
I'm gonna watch these playoffs, but my new year's resolution was to stop watching football, because every year when that season rolls around, I realize more and more that the people who play the game, and who analyze the game are just complete idiots. It's just sad when you watch all the tough hits those athletes take, and then you hear them trying so hard to put words together to form sentences. I just decide I don't want to encourage in any way something that I believe tears our society apart. Yes, people do love watching football. But encourages them to get in touch with their lower selves. Drinking beer, and taking joy in other's misery. Ditto for American Idol, which I vow to quit watching. It really says something about our society that we like seeing people crushed. it really doesn't have to be like that. |

lol your picks are upset?
1.) Giants (I really think Cowboys will win but I'll go for underdogs like I did last week with the Giants over Buccs. I didn't think they would've beat the Buccs but I picked them anyways for underdog factor.) 2.) Packers 3.) Chargers 4.) Patriots Quote:

But no reason to hate us. The Patriots aren't the usual all-star team, they've worked their ass off for this season and they do it with class and dignity.
Which is more than I can say for uh...some other teams out there.

Did you not see Gladiator? Society has been watching blood sports worse than football for centuries. How is watching football tearing society apart? If that was the case then there would be no structure to society at all by the time our century rolled around.[/QUOTE]
Yes, I did, and I would like to stop watching movies that glamourize brutality and war and things of that nature. I would have to say that just because certain practices were accepted in the past doesn't necessarily mean they should be accepted today. Oh yeah, on a football note, I'm surprised anyone is picking the Chargers over the Colts. I think they might be without Marvin Harrison, but I really don't see it. Also, I predict that once the Colts play the Pats in the AFC championship, Pats will still be mad about last year's game and will blow them out. |
