With only 7.0 megapixels, a pocket tripod and a nice urban landscape, I've had good results last Christmas.
A "Christmas tree" and some classical buildings in downtown Madrid: If buildings are well illuminated (like the Metropolis, the one at the left in the last pic), you can always take good night photos.

About the same mate. Anything higher than 5mp is pretty much a waste of HD space .

I still use an old compact one...
...but in a "photogenic town" everything is easier. This is from last month: The Gate of Europe. If you're lucky enough to live near a Philip Johnson's building, then you can take great photos. A month ago: Guess what that is? Your embassies. All in a skyscraper, Torre Espacio.

Don't underestimate compact affordable Kodak's.
They're hell to work with (for me, at least) but the results are often very impressive.

The good side of blur: sensation of movement.
The good side of Winter: nice photos. I took this one a few days ago. A frozen fountain: A small pond in front of Cervantes monument. Water and fallen red leaves frozen:

Nice pics, zaqarbal!
Pity there's some scooters on the first pic. Crop 'em off! I bought this camera on a bootsale a couple of days ago. Altough the battery door has to be kept shut with tape, I couldn't resist buying it for $3. I've found a Sony Memorystick pro to go with it and just tested it out a bit Depth in this picture is pretty nice! Colours are fine too. Bit brownish, but that's a lot better than the blue glare most sony camera's have. Flash is pretty usable (altough I'd rather avoid it) And, altough the age of this camera shows a bit here (ISO 400, grainy), It's a rare thing that an older compact camera allows you to keep your shutter open for 30 seconds. Nice Pleasantly surprised!
