The Black & White technique has something special... I couldn't explain it, but it gives an artistic touch to some photos. For example, a B&W image of an ordinary street, specially during winter, with some leafless trees... I don't know why, but it works:
If I had taken it in color, it would had been just a common photo of a common street.

Gurthanthaclops, not sure what kind of bug it was. i was at a conference in Macedonia and we took some field trips to the countryside to look at some iron age sites. i was shooting the plants, but then the bug appeared. big grasshopper i guess

..."Rugged? The man's a goblin!" Hey man, I feel you on that. I live out in semi-country myself. Surrounded on one side by a town (if you can call it that) with a population of 400 and on the other side miles and miles of endless fields. Personally I feel that urban, urban street photography has been done to death. I find small town people shots and street shots to be sometimes even more interesting just because it hasn't been done as much. You might try that. If you have any little cafes or diners around, I would go in there and get some old duffers drinking coffee or something like that. |

Wow, these are outstanding shots sir. Love them. Your Eiffel Tower shot especially impresses me because of your unique spin you put on a common shot. The angle is great and the branches to the top of the frame add a wonderful feel to the image, and great choice with the black and white. Love your composition on the other- I'm curious how you got a night shot like that so clear without a tripod or anything.
