About a month ago, I saw this red squirrel in a park. And I couldn't help taking some photos:

I recorded these short vids too:

Adorable rodent, don't you think? Somehow, he/she looks like a hare with orange hair, a long tail and ear-tufts to me. In fact, I could describe red squirrels as...... psychedelic hares!

Yeah it's cute, a slender head with big eyes and a little nose, bushy tail and big bushy ears

They are endangered in Britain I think.

Do you zoom in on these pictures or do you just get very close? I know you will zoom in to an extent anyway but the blackbird pics look like you were reasonably close to to it. Close enough for it to fly off anyway.

It looks like a red/green pepper that ended up looking like a tongue.

That's because of the American invasion! And this is the culprit. Something similar happens with birds. Look at this:

Quaker Parrots. Somewhere in the Americas? No. I took those pictures in an urban park in Madrid, near where I live. There are millions of them, around Europe. And they are noisy as hell. There is a "zoological globalization" in process or something.

I use a zoom lens, of course. Anyway, you have to be very, very patient. In fact, the word that goes with "photographing birds" is...... frustrating.

I get as close as possible to them, very slowly, avoiding sudden movements. You can photograph blackbirds from about three meters away. Some birds are cagier than others. "From less to more", I'd say that: Pigeons < Quaker Parrots < Blackbirds < Magpies < Starlings < Woodpeckers.

I took these from my deviantART that I have under a psyedneum because my name is absolutely hideous and doesn't fit quite right. "Ashley Hawkins Photography". Entirely gross.

But yup. They're very amateur but there they are.

Yup! I did a project where you had to emulate a well known photographer. I chose Edward Weston, and based it off of his pepper pictures.

Great thread. I have a good Canon, but I want to purchase a macro lens. They give some great shots.

But of course, the photographer is in the person taking the photo, not the camera or lens ;)
