And thanks, NumberNine! |
U all inspired me to look through my photo library and reminded me of all the places I've been lucky enough to go! for only being 16 I've been a lot of places. I'll sort through all the pics later and maybe post the best ones, but if any of them are any good its only because the places are beautiful, not any skill of mine. I had forgotten what a beautiful world we live in. Thanks guys for reminding me :)

Prevent Bloody Revolution! Patriots Arm Thyselves!
With Truth and Resolve! Fascists Rule the Land!
In this old school house near Camp 42 in the southeast corner of Kansas lived a very interesting man who was a political extremist and proud member the NRA. He always wore a pistol in plain sight in the top pocket of his overalls and kept his political whirlygig spinning in his front yard throughout his life. Its a shame because he died about a year or so ago, and I would have loved to have gotten him and his pistol standing up on his porch in my picture. http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/p...ion855x684.jpg |
That's an awesome picture!
|
Thanks Pete. I thought it had a certain atmosphere about it, myself.
|
Thats an immence picture, as you say the only thing that could top it would be the man himself on the porch. Nevertheless, amazingly cool.

Just some of my shots from flickr. All shot with either a Hasselblad 500C/M or Yashica D.

^I've just seen your self-portrait with, I'm guessing, your Hasselblad 500 C/M. What an impressive machine. Do you also develop the photos in the lab, cause I'm guessing with a 70 mm film, that can be an experience of its own.
Btw, about the photos above, that first one should be seen in a much bigger size, to appreciate the details that, from the little I see, are surely great. Plus loved that last one, truly hypnotizing. Edit: I wonder if you also have some tilt and shift lenses. |

I have the film developed at a lab near my work. It's a pain to do yourself so I don't bother myself with it, but I did do some in class. :) Here's a little bit larger version of the first one. http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2597/...053e46a9_o.jpg No lenses like that, actually. At the moment I only have the 500C/M and an 80mm lens (normal focal length for medium format) and a DSLR with a 55mm and a 35mm. |
I loved the lab, I'd live there if the products weren't so damn expensive.
Just what I expected, it should be in a big size. If you look close enough at the center, the little blurry circles seem to be wiggling. cool. |
Nothing special, just a few randoms taken in august on my phone.

I did Abbey Road, took one of Battersea, and visited the Ziggy Stardust site. Didn't get a photo of the latter as there were lots of people eating and drinking in the way. |
Where is it? Isn't ringing any bells. :(
|
|
Mate the web is full of people who have not only took a picture of Abbey Road but have arranged their group in such a way as to imitate the album cover as closely as possible. I'm sure you have seen some of these photo's, most people have. I'd want a picture of it i have to admit, from about where you took yours and maybe a little furter back but i'm not gonna go as far as some!
The locals must be sick of it. |
Been to london quite a few times but never took any pics so last time i got a lot of the main touristy places, and went to Abbey Road in the day time (this time).

I know I'd be sick of it! |
Just behind it is a mini junction that gets a lot busier than abbey road itself. I guess anyone who uses that route daily is used to it, at least they don't have to re-paint Abbey Road studios' walls every few weeks.

I wonder how many people a year get knocked down at that crossing for running across there at the very last minute. |
At Abbey Road Studios' official site, there's a cam showing every second of the zebra crossing. I visited it sometimes, didn't see any pedestrians walking tho, and I'm not really going to spend my whole day at the cam.

My friends and I went to the beach yesterday and we saw a bunch of pervy santas:

Some of those are extremely amazing. I love the photo captions also :thumb:!
Some poor photos to show how fast winter came to Scotland! (not showing skills or anything, but they're not really apropriate for any other thread!) 7/10/09 http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/v...tYae1028-1.jpg 13/12/09 http://i675.photobucket.com/albums/v...3122009030.jpg Winter sucks :(. It's minus 5 also. |
Here, have 3 of my latest:
This was such a brave little chickadee, he let me walk right up to him- I'm probably not but 3 feet away from him (lucky for me because I only have a 18-135mm lens) http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/p.../Chickadee.jpg I caught these three amigos right in my backyard. I had a split second to take this before they took off, but I managed to get it. I think they were the ones who chewed my brand new tree to a stump. http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/p...milyofDeer.jpg I took this one at an old former coal mining location. If you're wondering what I did to it, I took three fairly long exposures (you will need a tripod for that): one at -3, 0, +3. Combined them and added the Orton effect to it. http://i426.photobucket.com/albums/p...ertheTrees.jpg |

One of my favorite pics from when I went to Ireland in 2006. http://fc07.deviantart.net/fs47/i/20..._Destructo.jpg Since I don't have a wide-angle or a fisheye lens, I've taken to creating my own panoramic shots with Photoshop. From a camping trip in Virginia last summer. |
^ I absolutely love both of those, the first one is kinda creepy/eerie but in an awesome way. And the second is really beautiful... so green!
|
Thanks. That's actually a shot up a chimney in an old, burnt-out inn called the Hellfire Tavern. It sits on top of a big hill over-looking Dublin, and you have to hike through the darkest woods I've ever seen to get there. Actually, here's a pic.
http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...g?t=1261769154 Keep in mind, this is in the middle of the day. And this is Hellfire Tavern. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f1...g?t=1261769206 |

Well, I guess I'm kinda on a roll, so here's some more.
http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs41/i/20..._Destructo.jpg http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs43/i/20..._Destructo.jpg My first makeshift panoramic. A bit sloppier. From a road trip in 2006. Lake Tahoe, California. |
^That first one is amazing! I've never seen a sky like that in my life.
|
Many thanks. I guess the trickiest part to that day was predicting whether the sunset was going to be interesting or not. In fact, that's one of my favorite things to photograph is a nice sunset. Probably because nature does all the work. I just click the shot.
