Surprised no one put Buckethead on there. Nothing like some good old end of the world blues guitar/keyboard.

I voted "Hi Baku Sho" as the most evocative of a post-apocalyptic soundtrack. I could perfectly see that song being played in the minutes directly following the aftermath of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
Another close choice was the Portishead song, though I decided that it was more depressing in general and not necessarily post-apocalyptic. Oh, and "Diabolique" would have been a fantastic song if the f***ing looped clip of "diabolical laughter" didn't ruin it. I mean, a couple times would have been OK, but it was so omnipresent that it interfered with the rest of the song. |

I'm listening to the comp now. Depressing seems to be a quality of a post-apocalyptic scenario though, so I don't know if I agree with you on the Portishead song, but I'm not through the comp yet so I'll reserve my opinion and guesses for after.
So far I'm liking the tracks in this. I'll probably do a re-arrangement of them and post my version of the order and if anyone wants to try it that way, sweet. Maybe we can exchange song order lists and try the comp(s) in different flows. |
