This is a very legit point of concern. There are only two ways to get the most accurate description of what constitues a genre. 1) The artist themselves. What they or their record label describe themselves as is likely accurate. 2) Majority rule. Aka voting. Likewise, there are 2 ways to know if a work really defines that particular genre. 1) Historical record. If it's something like Robert Johnson's Cross Road Blues for Delta Blues, or Mudhoney for grunge, or Miley Cyrus for Manufactored Pop, obviously it's a good way to define that style. With the smaller offshoots and genres, however, it's often hard to tell and open to a lot of interpretation. So 2) Majority Rule, aka voting is the most effective.

For these reasons, I've created this area here.

This is far too time consuming for every single genre. However, as has happened already, if there is some dispute about what should represent a genre effectively (less so what constitues a genre), take your discussions there. The reason I'm seperating them is because it's becoming very cluttered and difficult to process submissions through this thread. So, henceforth, if you think something poorly represents a style, discuss it there, maybe bother a mod to add a poll every now and then, and report back here with the new track and a bolded notification: REPLACE, for my sake, so it's easier to process.

From now on, please use this thread only to suggest songs. Write ups and info are still welcomed!
