So is everybody OK then with Sonic Youth - Stereo Sanctity for Noise Rock. It was an example at first, but now it can be a suggestion.

Is Japanther fine for noise pop? That was actually the one I was least confident in...

I think so, it's quite a vast genre anyway. Loads of stuff counts as Noise Pop.

i'm gonna have to step up and disagree with Sonic Youth for Noise Rock (sorry :( )....they're noisy and all...but i feel like they have a more artistic approach vs just being plain old nasty and noisy...much like God Bullies - Fear and Pain

i have always just look at Noise Rock as basically the "No Hope" generation

i have some more suggestion :)

Ambient
The Threshold House Boys Choir - Form Grows Rampant Part 1

this song seriously takes you to other places

Industrial Music
SPK - Despair

i have always felt that SPK is thee definitive "industrial" band

Two-Tone Ska
The Specials - Too Much Too Young

i just think that The Specials have to represent 2tone

Ska Punk
Operation Ivy - Sound System

greatest dance song ever written

Anarcho Punk
Crass - Bloody Revolutions

this song explains in great detail what "Anarch Punk" is

Hardcore Punk
Gorilla Biscuits - New Direction

REBIRTH TO HARDCORE PRIDE!!...need i say more

Psychobilly
The Reverend Horton Heat - Psychobilly Freakout

didn't they coin the term here?

Gothic Rock
Bauhaus - Bela Lugosi's Dead

this is still the theme song to every little goth rock kid....classic

^All great picks.

When I think of noise rock I think of all of the Albini bands plus associated acts (like The Jesus Lizard especially)...
