Bob Dylan - "The Man in Me"
|
What an interesting thread! Loved reading these posts.
My latest find was Can't beat the feeling by Justin Timberlake from the Trolls movie. Was watching it with the kids and loved the track. Searched for it on Spotify and have had it on my running playlist since then. It's a great upbeat song that gets my mood up when the running starts to feel stale. :p: |

What a great tune this is!!!!! |

Loreena McKennitt - The Mystic's Dream (from The Mists of Avalon)
Tim Skold - Burn (from this cheesy vampire movie that I can't remember the name of) My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult - After the Flesh (a remix of their song Nervous Xians, from The Crow) Bob Seger - Like A Rock (from The Weatherman) |
From Snatch.
Oasis ~ F**king In The Bushes (the instrumental version) |
Anyone who has watched the excellent movie, The Talented Mr.Ripley, may remember this scene, which is one the lighter-hearted moments in a story which is just full of unease. I've seen the movie about three times, so I was pleased to discover recently another and imo better, version of the song:-

Here are a few that come to mind.
Focus - Hocus Pocus (Baby Driver) Motorhead - Born to Raise Hell (Fighting With My Family) Steelheart - We All Die Young (Rock Star) The Ramones - My Brain Is Hanging Upside Down (Bonzo Goes To Bitburg) (School of Rock) Soul Asylum - We 3 (Chasing Amy) |
Age 7 at the movies
The first non-classical piece of music to stick in my head.
Drove my parents insane singing this around the house all day. Being in love with Sophia Loren (or was it her high heels?) may have had something to do with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QArtb3nCC8I |
Watching the movie Belfast (2021)

Somewhere in Beetween - Stephen Bishop
It plays during the intro credits to The China Syndrome. A somewhat sensationalized account of something that happened for real. If you watch documentaries about the Three Mile Island nuclear incident in the US, it's clear that this movie plays things up a bit to make things more exciting. The movie is not bad either. You'll see Jane Fonda and a pretty young looking Michael Douglas. The movie feels very 70's with how people dress and talk. Anyway, the intro song is pretty neat. Feels kinda "yacht rock", although I don't think I ever 100% pinned down what that genre is about. deleted the URL because I'm not allowed to post those yet. But the intro credits roll of the movie is super easy to find on Youtube. |
Goldfrapp - Strict Machine. Miami Vice 2006 w/Colin Farrell n Jamie Foxx. Club scene after the opening boat race, Sinnerman (Felix da housecats heavenly house mix) then this. MUST be a tech-trance lover to appreciate.

The opening scene in 'The Eye of the Devil' with David Snell playing the best piece of source music in any film I've ever seen. Composed by the great Gary McFarland. Never seen a test press for sale in over 15+ years of searching - the only way to own it on vinyl - although it apparently does exist. Incredible harp arrangements.

From the movie Empire Records
It's unfortunate the movie soundtrack only contains the studio version by Coyote Shivers and not the boy/girl vocals in the movie. |
Back in 1985 I saw the movie Ladyhawke. I *loved* that movie. It became my top favourite movie of all time.
I also loved the soundtrack to the movie. There was some really cool electric guitar in the soundtrack (but not in the form of a song, just an electric guitar accompanying the action in the movie). I purchased a vinyl album with the soundtrack to Ladyhawke and played it again and again for many years afterward. |
Who plays guitar on it?
