I'd love to see your signature/links too, but the huge and obnoxious ones have caused me to block all signatures.

i submitted a vampire track for the medieval comp (if you notice a lot of those themes can be sub-themes of other ones)

wouldn't work out all that great, cause people could just cut the song files up to match that (not hard to do)

I prefer themes that somehow translate to the music. Most of the themes up there do so, but not all. Songs with the devil in'em don't for example. I think Night Driving does perhaps because I think the mood you get when you're driving - it's dark, it's raining perhaps, the street lights flow past - is quite specific. At least for me it almost always have something to do with a sort of nice melancholy.

I think the best choices are the ones that encapsulate a mood rather than a theme. ie Night Driving or Maritime. They don't need to actually talk about driving or sailing to summon that idea. On the other hand, I think it would be fairly difficult to get songs to encapsulate a 'vampire' mood without actually singing ABOUT vampires, therefore your choices are minimised, and it gets doubly hard when most of your HD is full of non-vocal albums

I voted drugs but what exactly are the characteristics of a song you would listen to while driving at night?

That's ultimately up to each contributor of course. One thing which is nice about these loosely defined mood comps is you sometimes get some interesting ideas that perhaps you wouldn't have thought of yourself. There were definetly some surprises on the cyberpunk comp from last month.

When I drive at night, I like to listen to music which is somewhat soothing and melancholic. It would be interesting to see what other people would think of.
