I chose my track, which I am just going to admit was iaminthedirectory by White Noise Carousel, because it was pretty much the first thing to come to my mind (after Deltron). First of all, the song is pretty much a dark, dismal, hopeless collection of glitchy sounds that already makes me feel like I am in a cyberpunkish society. The whole album has a very similar lyrical style, basically someone reading off an unbelievably depressing, dark poem. I chose this song in particular because I felt it displayed an interesting take on cyberpunk, where instead of describing a dark, bleak futuristic society controlled by technology he described our current society as just that, narrating as some weird creature. By the way, sorry it was over 8 minutes long

Well seeing as how the guessing has pretty much stopped I'll come forward and say that I was the one to submit "The Dream Sequencer" by Ayreon. I've read a few comments saying that it didn't have much to do with the theme, but I chose this song specifically because I knew that the mix was going to be predominantly electronic industrial music (which it was). I forget to ask Tore to put the song as the opening (it really does give off a sci-fi feeling) but it seems he read my mind and did it anyways. Perhaps not as true to the theme as the other songs, it does create some variety and help sets the mood for the rest of the songs.

I chose Panasonic Youth, because I thought that it musically, lyrically, and titally (if that's even a word) fitted the theme. It's also one of my favorite Dillinger Escape Plan songs.
I've tried to organize the lyrics the best I could. Quote:

I'm coming forward also; I'm the one who submitted 'World's End Rhapsody' by Nujabes. I chose it because it seemed to be the sort of thing that would be playing in some twisted future nightclub, or perhaps the kind of track you'd hear sizzling out of the speakers of Death Cube K on some smoke-tinged night. A distant beat, slightly retro yet not...it fit the compilation like a glove.

I really think that the themes (ahem my idea from way back are a better form of compilation as much more thought has to go into them instead of just random tracks.

I agree actually. Maybe we should just scrap the whole general MB Comp. thing and orient the monthly comps along specific themes instead?

Only one track left undisclosed so that means it must be Remedy who submitted Rain at Ohm. Like I said earlier in the thread, amazing track! Probably my personal favorite on this mix.
I went ahead and updated the OP with the songs next to everybody's names. |

I chose my song because I felt the first half of the song represented the high-speed, advanced, futuristic life-style full of lights and traffic. The second half represented the crime and corruption. The line "we'll bury this city in trash" worked well to describe a scummy, polluted cyber-punk city. |
