Yay!
I was also going to guess that Pigface was Janzsoon. shit ass song, man! And I'm also a Pigface fan, if enjoying maybe 40% of their work counts.

These are my honest impressions. Don't mean to make anyone angry.
Stone Birds - We know who submitted this, I've never heard of Stone Birds and don't know why this guy likes him so much. Because I think this is horrible. He's just playing the same few chords repetitively throughout the song, there's no hook whatsoever. I thought I heard synths at first but then I realise that's his guitar humming because of how his fingers are placed on the frets, he can't even chord properly. I hate his voice, he just can't sing, when he tries to hold them long notes or sing in a higher register, it's really irritating. This sounds so tuneless and out of key. It sounds like an unfinished demo. Easly the worst track on the album. Van Der Graaf Generator - You all guessed correctly, this was mine. Not a hard guess since the other proggies don't seem to pay these guys very much attention. This is one of my favorite prog bands. I think Peter Hammill is an excellent songwriter, and one of the biggest geniuses in prog. He knows how to write a great epic, how to craft hooks and how to build up a great climax. Prog nerd trivia: That's Robert Fripp playing the guitar solo for this song. Psychedelic Avengers - NOW we're talking, this is some great space rock, great guitar outro. This must be the work of Jackhammer. Yeah I kinda cheated, I looked this band up on rateyourmusic, they had only a few ratings, one of them was from, you guessed it, a guy called jackhammer. Hmm.... Prudence - Whoa boy. I gotta tell you, everytime I find a great obscure prog band like this, it's like cumming for the first time, seriously. Love the flute, the acoustic guitar solo and how it switches to bluesy hard rock with the chorus. This is obviously the work of Comus. Emerson, Lake & Palmer - Wow, it's about damn time someone else acknowledges these guys. This is a sweet track, great polyrhythm, lovely moog. It's hard to explain why I love this band, their sound is so out there, it's like Sega Genesis on LCD, and I love it. This must be either Tore or Anteater. Al Di Meola - I'm not into the virtuoso guitar genre as much as one would think. I heard this name a lot, mainly from metalheads so I natrually assumed he was some awful wanker. But yeah, this was great, this guy can really play some jaw dropping stuff. But crafting melody is important no matter what your skill level is and this is a great, groovy fusion track. I don't know who would submit this. Love - Whoever submitted this one, great choice. Forever Changes is such a classic album. Mungolian Jet Set - Mixed opinions on this one, the music itself is quite good. But the sampled gospel vocals damn near ruin it. Why even sample something like that, does it sound like it belongs here? No, not at all. I hate it when people sample stuff that doesn't fit in, Moby's Play is a good example, sampling blues and gospel music that sounds awkwardly out of place, why sample anything like that other than for hipster cred? Melt Banana - The opening is just f*cking annoying, but when the song kicks into gear it's actually not bad, I like it. Pobody's Nerfect? Hey, this is the band with the hot Japanese chick bassist right? I need check to out more from this band. Fats Waller - This is what I love about these comps, you never know what to expect. This is awesome, but I have no idea who would submit this. Pigface - All I have to say is. WTF? Does this even qualify as a song? I see Janszoon only submitted this as a joke. This is just awful. Porcupine Tree - Man, this forum really is being taken over by us proggies isn't it? But yeah, Steven Wilson is one of my favorite musicians now, great songwriter, singer and guitarist. I also love the fretless base and the flute. They have so many fans here, hard to guess. But maybe Antonio. Norma Jean - There's always an obligatory post hardcore track when it comes to these comps. I really can't stand stuff like this to be honest, my brother tried to get me into it, to no avail. Karl Sanders - Everyone seems to hate this one, but I dunno. It doesn't really qualify as a song, but it's got a cool creepy atmosphere to it. This would be great on the soundtrack of an Indiana Jones movie or something. Sgt. Proof that post rock doesn't have to be boring, I really love this. The shoegaze guitar combined with the violin and flute, a very spacey feel. The build up is great, a really intense and exciting track. Sweet Nothing or Dac maybe? Fall of Troy My opinions of this band is mixed. They're quite talented musicians, I like their singer when he sings, but not when he screams and sounds like Donald Duck getting his balls cut off. Not really a band I care to listen to. Caveman? But at least for a post hardcore band, they're doing something interesting. So that's it, this is how I see it. Like/Love: VDGG (well duh) Psychedelic Avengers Prudence ELP Al Di Meola Love Melt Banana Fats Waller Porcupine Tree Sgt. Meh: Mungolian Jet Set Karl Sanders Fall of Troy Hate: Stone Birds Pigface Norma Jean |

This can all be avoided by hitting that edit button y'know.
We don't need him getting his feelers in a twist now.

If the guy doesn't want honest opinions about his music, he shouldn't have submitted a track for a comp where people usually give their opinions about them. He's obviously prepared for some negative feedback. |

Aw righ.
'Nyways, the computer I'm using atm doesn't have this comp on it or WinRAR, so I'm going by memory from when I heard it on the other CPU. Forgive me if I can't remember the song. -Stone Birds- Could've been better. -Van Der Graaf Generator- I thought it was a tad too long for what it was, but I dug. -Psychedelic Avengers- Christ this had a long name. However, this was some funky, funky shiz. Maybe Antonio? -Prudence- The intro creeped my mom out. Thumbs up from me. -Emerson, Lake and Palmer- b.e.a.u-tiful -Al Di Meola- Roller Coaster of a song! My favorite track in the comp. I CRAVE more of this. Props to whoever put it in. (maybe khfreek?) -Love- Sorry, but I'm going off memory and this one was apparently unmemorable. -Mungolian Jet Set- <3 -Melt Banana- O.o uhm, I hated and loved the singer's voice at the same time. Not quite sure what to say about it. Mind**** of a song. -Fats Waller- I lurve the lyrics in this one. -Pigface- No. -Porcupine Tree- The only PT album I had was FoaBP, and I didn't care for it. However, this is gooood stuff. -Norma Jean- Meh. -sgt.- Now THIS is my kind of post-rock! Dac perhaps? -Karl Sanders- It got better as it went along. Cool beans. -The Fall of Troy- I like TFoT, but this was kind of silly. :P Alfred maybe?

Meh. Considering that he chose to use this comp to post something by himself that (a) doesn't have a particularly long title and (b) by it's very nature defeats the whole guessing game facet of the comp tells me that he doesn't really care about actually participating in what these things are all about. So I guess the price he pays is being critiqued heavily. Oh well.
