Some names I recognise for change :D
Downloading now... |
I have some of these songs already, but oh well.
|
Looks pretty interesting, downloading.
|
Just put it on, I love this Blue Oyster Cult track, and I think I know who else does.
Was it Boo Boo? |
Glad to see a shorter comp. I'll download now.
|
Sleepy sun was pretty cool, and everything is flowing really well so far.
I like the Black Taj song, I'm going to guess that's Seltzers. |
Bootsauce and Dawntreader: had to skip
Scott Walker: Never been a fan but the song wasn't too bad Mother Tongue: Not bad, but overly generic and angry for no reason. Also about 3 minutes too long. Can: I like Can, but Delay 1968 has never caught my fancy. Again about 3 mintues too long, but sounds like Kings Of Leon's early albums. Sigur Ros: I like me some sigur ros, but I always found it to be a bit too simple for what it is. Caravan: Caravan is love. Great song if I do say so myself, definitely something I'd want in the compilation. About ten minutes too short. Clutch: Pleasant enough stoner rock, a bit generic I know who loves this band though: Antonio Jim O'Rourke: Pretty boring generic indie folkish meandering; Right up ethan's alley of course I doubt he contributed this time, but you never know. Overall pleasant but trying too hard to be "deep" Yellow Machinegun: Album ends in a punkish japanese mess in a way only Jackhammer could envisage |

Also, I'm gonna take a wild guess and say Caravan is yours. Could be because it's the only song you had anything really positive to say about. |
I'm pretty sure Clutch was Antonio, I know he recently got most or all of their discography and was pretty vocal about his admiration for them.
|
Ok, it's for me to hop back on this bandwagon, I'm d/ling as we speak.

but yeah, i've been into them since freshman year of highschool, but i haven't gotten around to their full discography yet, there's still a few albums that have escaped my grasp. i'm taking care of that though ;) |
I liked the first three for sure but It went a little downhill for me there and it wasn't a very mixed bag musically I thought. A couple of tracks were frankly terrible but they can't all be perfect.

I enjoyed a few of the songs, but many were not to my taste. Dawn Treader was terrible, Scott Walker and Jim O Rourke seemed really boring, and Sigur Ros didn't inspire me either. The others were enjoyable, some more than others.
|
dawn treader = captain caveman.

was probably alfred or some other newb |
what the fuck, i hate those pussies.
|

1. Blue Oyster Cult-Career Of Evil: Fantastic opener, I always felt these guys were underrated, what musical genius submitted this one I wonder? Hmm... I'll just take a guess and assume it's Big3, since he likes BOC I think.
2. Sleepy Sun-New Age: Wow, this one really caught my ear. It might be my favorite. Great psychedelia with a modern twist, love the guitar. Is this yours Jack? 3. Black Taj-Cold Comfort: I like it, a lot of chord progressions going on. Like it could have been chopped off into a dozen different riffs, all with a bit of a classic rock vibe, it's really all over the place but flows nicely. Work of Tore maybe? 4. Bootsauce-Watch'a Need: Not bad, the 80s synths and Prince vocals really caught me by surprise, but I kinda like it. I think this is Rezz. 5. Dawn Treader-Lady With Death Mask: I'm not into this screamo stuff, I'm just not. I do kinda like the piano/string interlude, the rest of it, not so much. I don't know who would submit this if it wasn't Caveman. 6. Scott Walker-Boy Child: I like it, a little corny, but in a cool way, and it's got a nice spacey feel. 4ZZZ is a good bet. 7. Mother Tongue-Damage: Really good. This has a very RHCP/Pearl Jam feel, which makes me think this is the work of Seltzer. 8. Can-Little Star Of Bethlehem: I really dig it. I like Can best when they go for the funk, rather than their noiser experiments. Satchmo maybe? 9. Sigur Ros-Olsen Olsen: I already have this track. But it's probably my favorite from Agaetis Byrjun, just a gorgeous song. Could this be Sweet Nothing? 10.Caravan-The Dog, The Dog Is At It Again: Ah yes, great track from a great album. It's not everyday a prog band decides to write an ode to the blowjob. There's no way this isn't Comus. 11.Clutch-The Soapmakers: Eh, just not my thing, I'd probably like it more if it weren't for the vocals. But yeah Antonio, obviously. 12.Jim O Rourke-Halfway To A Threeway: Booooooooooooooooooooooooring. Heavily sedated indie folk like this can only be the work of Ethan. 13.Yellow Machinegun-Underground: It seems every comp has one of these kinda tracks, and they're usually my least favorite, but I actually kinda dig this one. Alfred perhaps? And yeah, one of them is a lie, since I obviously contributed something. |
11 and 12 correct boobs.
|
I said that ages ago :(
|
11 and 12 correct Comus ;)
|
What about the Blue Oyster Cult was that boobs?
|
I thought he acknowledged that? Yeah it is his. Good tune too.
|
Yeah the first three tracks were all awesome beyond belief.
|
Wtf how is Caravan not Comus?
In that case his must have been Sleepy Sun or Black Taj. He hardly had anything positive to say about anything else. |
Yay now I can put Sleepy Sun in my 1001, Black Taj could be jackhammer then too.

Is Black Taj sidewinder then? This is my last guess on this track >;(
