I was under the impression that Slightly Stoopid were some second rate ska-Punk band but that track suggest otherwise! I really like it! Could the person responsible please report to Jackhammer with further info. You know who you are!

I guess that Slightly Stoopid is FaSho.

jackhammer 03-06-2009 04:43 PM

Are we all just guessing and not listening to it? :(

Alfred 03-06-2009 04:48 PM

No. I'm listening to it.

1. Love this. Sweet Jazz vibe that reminds me off a rain soaked walk through a neon city.
2. Solid Morrissey and I love the lyrics. I have a feeling that their meaning may be lost on a few.
3. Sounds a little like N.I.N but the strings add another layer. Lyrically solid too.
4. Those Asian vocals and offbeats redefine 'kooky'. I like this a lot. it's unpredictable.
5. Not what I would normally listen to and I just couldn't get into it.
6. I thought this band were a Ska band? not on the evidence of this track. Reminds me of Transglobal Underground. I really like this track.
7. This one is a little too lengthy but love that waca waca guitar!
8. Classic Northern Soul. Pity about the SQ. However that is to be expected.
9. This is cliched but I really liked it. I loved the production on this. The guitars have a great sound.
10. This very nearly drops into cliched pop chart RnB territory but the vocal work keeps me interested throughout. Intrigued for sure.
11. Probably my favourite. I love the melancholic vibe and twisted vocals.
12. This would work better in a film soundtrack- in fact it sounds like it MUST be in one!

Are those observations based on one listen?

No. 3 times for me and 2 of them are mine! I have had to be impartial.
