Comus is definitely Wishbone Ash.

Bulldog might've put in for Robyn Hitch****, not sure.

I wish - that's actually quite a decent track :D Robyn Hithcock sounds a bit like a 4zzz or Demonoid selection for me.

A couple more stabs in the dark based on first listens;

Blu & Exile - Fasho
Cat Power - Minstrel

Hehe, nope. Thinking about it, mine might receive more hate than love, but what the heck. This is about listening to something new :D.

Anyways, random guesses -

A Certain Ratio - I Need Someone Tonight ---- Bulldog, Molecules or Urban. (I love their stuff)
The Turtles - Eve Of Destruction ---- Lucifer Sam

FaSho 01-16-2009 01:25 PM

The turtles are definatley LLSS.

jackhammer 01-16-2009 01:28 PM

A certain Ratio is definitely one of those three :D I will help and say that Molecules did'nt give a track.

Fasho-correct!

Bulldog-wrong on both counts!

Ha! how did you know?

"He War" by Cat Power, was that shiseido red's pick?

swim 01-16-2009 01:37 PM

Urban is ACR.

jackhammer 01-16-2009 01:42 PM

Last two- wrong! No one is getting the first comp-what gives?

Farfisa 01-16-2009 01:45 PM

Really? I said Dreadaught first, then I changed it to shiseido red.

WWWP 01-16-2009 02:05 PM

Must get more Bloody Hollies....

Heh I knew I'd be the first one down, it was fairly obvious. But sod it, it had to go in!

If we do another one maybe I should just choose Mojo Pin and make it a trend :p

I havent got round to listening to these yet but I am gonna try over the weekend. They look worthy of a listen for sure!

I never got around to sending in a song.

NSW 01-16-2009 11:22 PM

I don't know...I was thinking Appallachian Terror Unit might be Alfred, until I read that he hadn't heard of any of the bands on the first comp. :(

4ZZZ 01-16-2009 11:26 PM

How good is that track by Yo La Tango! Is that indicative of their work? Sensational. Big thumbs up to jackhammer!

Damn, I was really hoping you would.

ProggyMan 01-17-2009 12:38 AM

I doubt anyone will guess mine.

Dr_Rez 01-17-2009 12:39 AM

So when is part 2 arriving?

ProggyMan 01-17-2009 12:43 AM

It already did.

4ZZZ 01-17-2009 12:44 AM

I think that the first list is the strongest.

Glad you like it. The album it comes of I Often Dream of Trains is one of my favs. If anyone like Syd they will like Robyn Hitchcock

I got one right, how cool am I :D

I really liked the song though. One of the best on the second part of the comp (in my opinion).

Someone's probably put two and two together and sussed this out already, but ACR was my pick.

It was a pretty nice track, I have to admit. I'm pretty stumped on that one. I don't know many people who like punk at that intensity here.

Piss Me Off 01-17-2009 12:54 PM

I think Urbans is the Nurse With Wound one.

Can't believe no-ones guessed mine.

ProggyMan 01-17-2009 12:56 PM

Cat Power-PMO

No, but I did notice you have a Blu lyric in your signature...

FlapstheVulture 01-18-2009 11:53 PM

I have really enjoyed this compilation. The Afghan whigs, Seafood, and Yo la Tengo are mos def three bands that I need to listen to more. Is all of Yo la Tengos Music sort of drawn out kinda of Shoegazi. Theres not many songs with a repititous bassline like this that can keep my attention.

Yo La Tengo's music flit's around a little. There is a little bit of Americana, shoegaze, acoustic tunes and fuzzy Indie. All good though.

4ZZZ 01-20-2009 05:44 AM

5. Angels Of Light - My True Body. A really good song.

Cardboard Adolescent?

Edit. Someone said that already. Must have subconsciously remembered. Sorry.

jackhammer 01-20-2009 06:20 AM

I should let everyone out of their misery as regards compilation #1 as it seems to have stumped most people!

Alfred 01-21-2009 05:15 PM

yesh pleash

jackhammer 01-22-2009 02:28 AM
