Slowdive

Slowdive are a band which have grown on me immensely in the past year to become one of my favourite bands. Active from 1989 to 1995 they released three albums: Just For a Day (1991), Souvlaki (1993) and Pygmalion (1995), a scattering of EPs and singles, and Blue Day (1992) a compilation made up of their early EPs. Their soft ethereal vocals and heavy use of guitar effects combine with melodic hooks to create a calm, relaxing, dream-pop sound. With so many great songs to choose from I could have included more, but I wanted to keep it short and sweet and leave other great tracks for you to discover on you own.
