Can you describe the difference in sound between the two, if it's not too much hassle...

In a nutshell, the 1978-84 stuff is more left-of-centre, with some post-punk to it, a few dub rhythms and disco grooves, some post-rock and even a little bit of pop music in a couple of cases. The 1985-92 stuff's a lot more accessible on the whole, with more of a focus on hard rock sound in varying degrees from album to album. As I say though, it's hard to explain. |
