Beginner's Guide to Alt. Country

Been kicking around the idea of doing an alternative country guide because there's a lot more stuff out there than just Wilco. This isn't filled with your pop country that plagues the airwaves nor is it my depressing Gothic Country. This is a collection of some old, some new, and some interesting fusions between different genres. It's a rather lengthy playlist, but I decided that the more people could be exposed to, the higher the odds of someone coming across something they liked.

Track List:

01. "Reefer Load" - Scott H. Biram - Graveyard Shift (2006)
02. "The Truck Got Stuck" - Corb Lund - Hair In My Eyes Like A Highland Steer (2005)
03. "Drinkin' Again' - Corey Smith - In The Mood (2007)
04. "Folksingers Heart" - Two Cow Garage - Speaking In Cursive (2008)

08. "Stillest Hour" - .357 String Band - Ghost Town (2006)
09. "Shake Like A Flame" - Glossary - For What I Don't Become (2006)
10. "Easy" - Deer Tick - Born On Flag Day (2009)
11. "This Is How We Do Things In The Country" - Slim Cessna's Auto Club - The Blovdy Tenent Trvth Peace (2004)

One of the best songs I've ever heard.

And that's a pretty nice looking comp. I'll probably give a couple of those bands a listen.

It was hard to choose a Steve Earle song because he has such an expansive discography so I just decided to go with one that is arguably his best.
