http://www.teamspider.com/webpics/ne...at_c-squat.jpg Introduction To Crack Rock Steady/Skacore Choking Victim, the first self proclaimed Crack Rock Steady band coined the term in 1993 with the release of there EP. Also refered to as Skacore, Crack Rock Steady bands are most against capitalism and primarily have anarchist lyrics. Although most of these bands aren't Crust Punk, they lead the (mostly) same life style, squatting (when a group of people will take over an abandoned building to live in), participating in raves, and road protests. The sound is most notably characterized by a fast paced staccato (also known as skanking) on guitar. http://www.klf.de/home/wp-content/up...lling-joke.jpg Beginner's Guide to Killing Joke So here's a band that I've really liked for quite a few years now but barely gets talked about on here. I think the only other member I've ever seen mention them is Janzoon which automatically makes him my BFF. Anyhow Killing Joke is an English Post-Punk/Industrial Rock/Quasi-Metal band that started back in 1979. They're known for a heavy driving sound played at a slow pace. Heavy and slow is the way to describe their music, but there's so much more to it than that. With elements of post-punk, new wave, and pop they really transcended so many boundaries that held back other bands similar in that genre. I did my best to include songs from all over their discography (which is quite extensive) but for the most part I stuck with their heavier stuff, adding a couple of their poppier songs. Track Listing 01. "The Death & Resurrection Show" - Killing Joke (2003 version) 02. "Wardance" - Killing Joke (1980 version) 03. "Invocation" - Hosannas from the Basement of Hell 04. "Requiem" - Killing Joke (1980 version) 05. "Adoration" - Brighter Than A Thousand Suns 06. "Exorcism" - Pandemonium 07. "Democracy" - Democracy 08. "Pandemonium" - Pandemonium 09. "Total Invasion" - Killing Joke (2003 version) 10. "Zennon" - Killing Joke (2003 version) 11. "Sun Goes Down" - Wilful Days Get it Here enjoy! |
