Beginner's Guide To Dark Cabaret

That is pretty much the best way to describe this style of music. It is set up a lot like a show you'd expect to see live in some theater. There's often a lot of dark humor in the songs, which just add to the live element. While there's often a lot of studio musician work for each song, for a style like this it really works well. If you can get past the odd demeanor and some of the stereotypical voices, there's quite a lot to this almost unheard of genre. Hopefully with this mix it will attract the attention of some people and create new fans.

Unicorns, HORSE the Band, or Dinosaur Jr. would all be awesome. Especially the Unicorns, I think I've heard them from my cousin. They're a ska band right?

I gave this a go and have to be honest- it didn't do a lot for me at all. Melodic Death Metal is kind of a misnomer for me as I expect Death Metal to that little more brutal and intense and when I want melody then I prefer something more progressive. The Lock Up track reminded me so much of late 80's Napalm Death it's unreal. Not sure whether that's good or bad and I'm afraid I thought that Pain were terrible. Very commercial Industrial and nowhere near as heavy as I look for in that genre (if it's Metal related). Cheers anyhow!

Fair enough then. I think the reason why Lock Up reminds you of Napalm Death is because the bassist and guitarist are Shane Embury and Jesse Pintado respectfully.

Ah Shane Embury- that brings back a few memories. First met him when I was 15 and a few times after as he lived locally. Quiet fella.
