Does The Kronos Quartet count?

jackhammer 11-25-2008 01:06 PM

Yeah they worked with Mansell on Requiem For A Dream soundtrack.

Veronica Lodge 11-25-2008 01:08 PM

They also did The Fountain with Mogwai, no?

jackhammer 11-25-2008 01:13 PM

Nope that was Mansell again and glorious it is too. My favourite soundtrack of the last couple of years.

Veronica Lodge 11-25-2008 01:24 PM

Right right, you're totally right.

Incredible film.
A guy I worked with did some SFX for the film.

Cool bananas and I used to know Clint Mansell too :D

Veronica Lodge 11-25-2008 01:26 PM

Crazy. Small world.

(The studio I used to work at also did all the SFX for the montage scenes in Requiem.)

jackhammer 11-25-2008 01:32 PM

Wicked stuff. Both Requiem and The Fountain are top draw in every department.

John Williams is my favourite.

I'd have to agree with Clint Mansell, can't help but love the man.

Nice list.
Philip Glass is my all time favorite for film socres. The soundtrack to The Hours is just stunning. It's probably my favorite soundtrack.

I had no idea that Johnny Greenwood did the score to There Will Be Blood until the credits of the movie. I had to download it and became obsessed. He should definetly do more side projects like this because he sure is talented.

John Murphy and Underworld did the great score to Sunshine.
