Favorite Video Game Soundtracks
The flower soundtrack is absolutely wonderful. Fits the game perfectly.

Abe's Exodus.
Amazingly eery and unnerving. I played it again the other day and remembered how bowled over I was by it. |
An obvious one is San Andreas, simply because it's got so much stuff on it there's something on it for everyone. Its Radio X and the Hip-Hop stations most of the time for me.
And i know i'm a massive fanboy of it but i have to say Smash Bros Brawl. Original and often orchestral takes on all the famous Nintendo themes, it sounds bloody epic most of the time and brilliant. I can tell they put some real effort into those themes for the game. |
The Baldur's Gate I and II soundtracks are my favourites... but I've already made a thread about them here.
Jeremy Soule (Morrowind/Oblivion) has some cool stuff as well. And I always liked Heroes 3, Super Marioworld and Street Fighter music. :D |
The Silent Hill soundtraks. Akira Yamaoka is an amazing composer which ranges from the first game's post-industrial noise music to more traditional melancholy piano solos to heavy rock pieces. Also the Metal Gear series and Final Fantasy always has a good ones.

I absolutely adore the music for Emerald Hill Zone on Sonic, when i found out it was on SSBB i punched the air :(
|
I do have one soundtrack on disc and that is for Metal Gear Solid the original psone game. I am not really a gamer so my knowledge is not too hot in this area.

Silent Hill, MGS, and FF have amazing soundtracks. Especially Silent Hill. I believe the reason that it's as creepy as it is, is the soundtrack. |
luls. I have sheet music for one of the FF soundtracks.
|
In terms of classical music for video games, I'd say Age Of Empires 1 and 2 have some amazing music. I'd often just pause the game to listen to it.
