Default There Will Be Blood : Jonny Greenwood

I find it quite hard to comprehend that a film that is getting plaudits from both critics and fans alike has not been mentioned on here regarding it's soundtrack. Written by Radiohead's Jonny Greenwood. TWBB is a remarkable achievement featuring some simple, yet elegant string work backed up with some subliminal brass work. The lack of motifs may deter some but it is an extraordinary piece of music that is majestic in it's simplicity.

I have not heard this fully, but i most definitely will give it a listen. The movie was my favorite of 2007.

Jonny Greenwood is too often outshined by Thom Yorke which is odd since Jonny's one of the most key figures in Radiohead's music ever and is definitely one of the most talented musicians of our time. I got this awhile ago but still haven't listened I'll post when I do.

The soundtrack of There Will Be Blood was extremely annoying. I didn't think the music fit the film at all, and at times was distracting. It was a mess as far as I am concerned.

That was easily my favorite soundtrack of 07, in fact it's one of my all-time favorite soundtracks. The only other 07 soundtrack that came close was Nick Cave's score to The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford.

I thought the music to this movie was really awesome and kind of insane at times which really actually fit the movie pretty good. I will say it is definitely not the norm for soundtrack music but I think that is why I liked it. I can really appreciate them for trying to do something different for once.

Yeah, I agree with this.
