Yeah I like the album Decadence. It's a good album to work out too. Nothing spectacular but sometimes I don't want to be impressed and just tap my feet or whatever. I like music whatever genre or state of popularity. If it's listenable then I enjoy it. Don't do fads. Not my style.

I liked Popaganda more then Decadence myself, but they're both solid albums. Head Automatica are really underrated comsidering they're better than 80% of all the mainstream powerpop, they're no Glassjaw though.

Great comp! I've already got the Faust, Fred Frith, Gal Costa, The Jesus Lizard, Neu! & Pere Ubu tracks, but well, it doesn't hurt re listening again.(although I do listen to them often)
Swell Maps were excellent as well. I might need to get their stuff, but seeing as I've already got my hands full rite now, it might take me a while . Oh well, still in my 'listen to' list I suppose .

Sorry for the double post.
I decided to ditch my avant-garde compilation, cuz some of it is just too weird. But if any of you are still interested, I'll post it.(WARNING: Half of it is utterly weird, and might not be good on the ears )
I did put some few tracks together in the last few mins though, mostly tracks that rock out. Some of it is psychedelic, some quite bluesy and many are quite progressive. This is mostly the kinda stuff I first started out with, and still enjoy it from time to time.(lets just say, a more popular version of these bands)

Track Listing

1. Fusion Orchestra - Sonata In Z
They sure did have a crazy vocalist .

2. Nektar - Crying In The Dark
A band that had a lot of krautrock influences, but this one is bit more on the progressive rock side.

3. Nektar - King Of Twilight
Just a continuation of the previous one. Might as well add it.

4. Twink - Ten Thousand Words in a Cardboard Box
Sometimes sounds like a proto-version of hawkwind, sometimes they just sound silly. Makes me wonder about the 'unofficial' British krautrock scene.

5. Flower Travellin' Band - Satori pt.4
Take the best part of Black Sabbath and led zeppelin, add a progressive element to it and some usual Japanese weirdness! These guys rocked and rocked hard. Love those vocals .

6. Savoy Brown - Master Hare
A nice bluesy instrumental.

7. Mountain - Never In My Life
Continuing on with the blues, this one sounds a bit dirtier.

8. Buldožer - Helga
A previously Yugoslavian(Slovenia) avant-garde rock band that well, kinda rocked out at times. This is one of their more accessible tracks. The CD was hard to find, but whats even harder was the lyrics translation.(where I've had absolutely no luck yet)

9. High Tide - Futilist's Lament
One of the very early metal acts. Their music does sound a bit simple, but well, this was back in 1969.

10. T2 - In Circles
Another hard-rockish prog. song. Their drummer was kinda wild .

8. The Normal - Warm Leatherette (Electropunk)
9. Pere Ubu - Heart of Darkness (Art punk)
10. Swell Maps - The Helicopter Spies (Post-punk)

Mix
1.) This is actually quite awesome - I'm definitely checking these guys out.
2.) I love this piece of Faust quirkiness. Brilliant album.
3.) Fred Frith's jagged metallic guitar over a warm bassline and a funky backbeat. What more could you want? And it even becomes almost listenable towards the end.
4.) I've never heard anything like this and it's very cool. Nice guitarwork, crazy vocals and a dynamic bassline.
5.) I love post-punk for the fusion of genres - this is jazzy, experimental, ballsy and funky, all at the same time.
6.) This didn't do much for me - it was a bit boring but improved towards the end.
7.) Punk Neu!! While I prefer earlier Neu, this album is certainly great and eclectic. And this is a great song packed with attitude.
8.) This was boring.
9.) I haven't got this album but I enjoy the Pere Ubu that I do have. I like the buildups in this.
10.) Another great song from another great band.

Overall I really liked this compilation.

I'm gonna give this a try, about time for me not to be a stupid old fart and listen to something a bit more modern and out of my box.

safe for this. Only one I have is Flower Travellin' Band, they should empty the musical recycle bin that is the rock n' roll hall of fame (all 2645468 of them) and make one just for these guys. Honestly. Have you got their covers album 'Anywhere' with the 16-minute version of Louisiana Blues? ecstasy

That's an awesome cover, every minute of it! The 13 minute odd version of '21st Century Schizoid Man' sounded a bit funny . The tempo changes weren't all that smooth as the original, but their guitarist is surely one talented mofo.
