I loved most of it. Godspeed are a band i could never get into but that track was incredible, i'm going to have to give them another go, i'm going to get onto some Envy and Pelican as well.

I've got all those so I didn't bother to download either but fantastic comps you've got there. Loving the Krautrock.
Would anyone care to see a jazz fusion compilation? Some of the songs might be a bit long but certainly well worth it.

Mine is better.
1. Mahavishnu Orchestra - "Meeting of the Spirits" 2. Bill Frisell - "I Can't Be Satisfied" 3. Return to Forever - "Romantic Warrior" 4. Weather Report - "Lusitanos" 5. The Lounge Lizards - "Au Contraire Arto" 6. Jaco Pastorius - "Fannie Mae" 7. Herbie Hancock - "Watermelon Man" 8. Miles Davis - "Miles Runs the Voodoo Down" 9. Pat Metheny - "Beat 70" 10. Allan Holdsworth - "Metal Fatigue" Jaco is the low point of the compilation, but I just couldn't leave him off and I don't have anything other than Live at Italy. Enjoy. Jazz Fusion.rar

Well, I promised a Jazz Fusion compilation… And again I lied Well not entirely… Oftentimes the lines are blurred by such categorical organisation (I personally believe fusion simply mean with any other genre, not just rock) so I’ll name this one the Jazz Fusion/Avant-Garde List And for anyone who downloaded my last list, I replaced all the other songs with fresh ones from the same band or not from the same band.
1. Aquarius – Cannonball Adderly Soul Zodiac 2. Emergency – The Tony Williams Lifetime Emergency! 3. Gongzilla – Gongzilla Suffer 4. Prayer – Into The Circle - Arcana Arc of the Testimony 5. Last Exit Iron Path; If I ever did a top 100 albums list… 6. Promise’s Kept – Sonny Sharrock Ask The Ages 7. Ralph’s Piano Waltz – John Abercrombie Timeless 8. Reducing Agent – Otomo Yoshihide’s New Jazz Quintet Tails Out 9. Searching for the Right Door/Spectrum – Billy Cobham Spectrum 10. Theme De Yoyo – The Art Ensemble of Chicago Les Stances a Sophie (I cheated ) Fusion-Garde.rar |

Curlew - Bitter Thumbs - A weird avant-garde'ish jazz song, which reminds me of henry cow a bit. Loved it! Sleepmakeswaves - By Moving The Stars I Have Found Where You Are Hiding - A post-rockish kinda song, and well, I liked it although nothing spectacular. LAST EXIT - Cut and Run - A fast paced jazzy track, that didn't go all that well for some reason. Not really sure why... D.F.A. - Flying Trip - Hmm, I've heard some DFA before, mainly bits and pieces of 'Lavori In Corso' but never heard this one. Great track nonetheless. Loved it. Might get that album. World's End Girlfriend - Grass Ark - You told me I might like this and this was definitely the highlight. Great track! I've heard the name often before, but never really bothered. Now might be the best time to start . Ophelia's Dream - Lady Magdalen - I was kinda lost in another world . Wonderful track. I definitely want more. Billy Cobham - Searching for the Right Door/Spectrum - Another great jazzy track. Love those drums. That's about all I could find/remember. I've definitely listened to the rest as well, but forgot for now. But overall though, this was definitely good . Now, onto your next compilation... |
