REGGAE

This is a Reggae compilation for those who have limited knowledge of the genre or see it as a genre of music that all sounds the same. With this compilation I have tried to get as varied a cross section of moods and styles as possible and not include the usual suspects. You will hear rock guitar, blues harp, classical guitar, jazz sax, electronica as well as various sub genres of Reggae such as dub, roots and riddim. Please download and enjoy!

TRACKLISTING:

1. MANO NEGRA-BRING THE FIRE
2. BURNING SPEAR-INVASION
3. DUBMATIX-SENSELESS KILLING DUB (Feat. Freddie McGregor)
4. THIEVERY CORPORATION-TRUTH AND RIGHTS
5. ASWAD-ETHIOPIAN RHAPSODY
6. JUNIOR MURVIN-POLICE AND THIEVES (YES The Clash DID cover it!)
7. LEE 'SCRATCH' PERRY and MAD PROFESSOR-25 YEARS ON (crazy riddim on this one!)
8. FREESTYLERS-SIGNS
9. ROCKERS HI-FI-TRANSMISSION CENTRAL
10. 10FT.GANJA PLANT- SWEDISH PRISON

I usually make playlists (that's what you would call them after using itunes for four years), according to how I fell at the time...so here is my compilation for these week (I hope):

1. Secret Meeting by The National
2. At my most beautiful by REM
3. Rebellion(Lies) by Arcade Fire
4. Goin' to Acapulco by Jim James and Calexico (I really love this cover)
5. Smokers outside the hospital doors by Editors
6. Fragile Dreams by Anathema
7. Samskeyti by Sigur Ros
8. Everything by Anathema
9. I'm not there by Bob Dylan
10. Slow Show by The National

Those tracks really tie the playlist together, man.

But seriously, the Fugazi track is instrumental and the Modest Mouse one is schizo electronica so don't judge too quickly.
