I'd say 60s really, but to be honest it would be more something in the likes of 65-75

Musical eras can't really be divided by the beginnings of decades. Middles are more like it

Probably doesn't know much about previous era's I know taste is subjective but the 90s were trash for soul

D'Angelo's first album came out in '95 too. I still don't think it's as good as the 70s, but it is underrated and I always really liked the style of R&B in the 90s.

The 70s is unrivaled IMO. I like a lot of the stuff from the 60s and everything, but it doesn't compare to having P-Funk, Sly & The Family Stone, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, basically everyone putting out their best stuff in my opinion. It was more wild **** too, whereas I feel like most of the stuff you hear from the 60s was in that really bubblegummy sweet pop style made for commercial radio. In the 70s it was a lot more possible to make music that didn't conform to that and still be successful, and I think that's why 70s just blows the 60s out of the water.

I think Sly and The Family Stone were much better in the 60s, their peak was in 1969 if you ask me........... Stand! Woodstock69, 3 new amazing songs. To me 1969-1971 was their heyday.
