Hardcore funk/soul fans - challenge for you...
Hey guys,
Basically I have searched high and low for this song, but to no avail, any of you infinite fountains of knowledge have a clue what song starts at 16:40 mins (or later in longer vids) from the sitcom 'Everybody hates chris', episode 'Everybody hates fathers day'? So sorry I couldn't post the link, the site wouldn't let me, but the song is right at the end when Chris is giving his dad a gift! Thanks in advance |

Is it Papa Was A Rolling Stone by the Temptations?
Hardcore funk is actually P-Funk. Bands during the 70s like Parliament/ Funkadelic, Rick James, The Isley Brothers, and so on. Last edited by Necromancer; 10-13-2014 at 10:13 AM. |

I found that particular episode 22 in season 1 on the Internet. Could only find a list of four songs that was played in that particular episode and that was one of them by the Temptations. The only other song I seen out of the four that was even close was Good Times by Chic.
Good luck finding the song. |

Its going to be a hard one to find because it sounds like an instrumental. I'm not quite sure why its not listed on the credits for the episode. I liked it to, so let me know if you track it down.

if you look at the episode playlist all the artists are fairly well known, so I would venture to guess that your best shot would be to spin a few albums from soul and funk artists that sound familiar.
My best guess is that the track is from the late 70's...maybe early 80's? unless its retro. |
