Well, I had a look on YouTube at a few songs, including the ones the Rolling Stones reviewer enthused about, and I have to say that they did nothing for me. Just one slow, slow ballad after another, all, apparently, about me an' my man, which reveals a rather dated attitude imo: as if a woman can only find fulfillment as the happy bride of Mr. Right and is immediately cast into languid misery if she hooks up with Mr. Wrong.
Come on Aretha! Lighten up and get a life!
