Victor Wooten.

Wooten has won the "Bass Player of the Year" award from Bass Player magazine three times in a row, and was the first person to win the award more than once.

Seconded.

Just watched this Wooten / Carter Beauford / Bela Fleck DVD, where they record Xenergy and a few other tracks.

Wooten is the funk.

S.M.V.'s "Thunder" is a must have album.
