Default Electric Wire Hustle (NZ)

Has anyone else heard of these guys?

I have been obsessively listening to them for a while now, from Wellington, New Zealand. Check them out!

Holy hell, this is some good ****. Best thing I've been able to check out in a while. They have a great soul/funk/electronic sound. Thanks for sharing it!

BTW...any albums you can recommend?

No worries mate, I'm glad you share my enthusiasm!

They only have one self-titled album at this point in time, but the singer Mara TK has done some collaborations with other local New Zealand artists.

Here is him in a project called Pacific Heights:

and here is Mara TK on a track by (in my opinion) one of the most talented musicians in NZ - Julien Dyne:

I'll definitely give those vids a listen. I ended up downloading an album called "Every Waking Hour", which is close to phenomenal IMO. So they have a self-titled too? I'm definitely going to have to check that out.

The vocals on the "Every Waking Hour" are superb, very reminiscent of Marvin Gaye. The songs "Tom Boy" and "They Don't Want" are so chill. I've already recommended the album to a couple people!

I am really confused now... I looked up Every Waking Hour and it is apparently, the same album as the so-called "self-titled" that I was talking about, but I for some reason I have never heard it being called that! And I've also never heard of that track called Every Waking Hour.

This is embarrasing, I think this calls for some investigation...

I got my hands on Every Waking Hour as well, it's lovely stuff. On a first listen at least, I've barely explored the album I'm so addicted to They Don't Want.

Perfect late night listening when you feel like a warm and cozy sound rather than desolate-ness. If that makes sense.

I heard this song and I like this very much, it is so interesting and nice. I heard only one and can 't heard so much. If anyone have other songs then share here, so I download from here, it is way an easy to access.

NSW introduced me to this band and I'm glad she did. So many World Fusion/Trip Hop bands can become a little too chilled at times and formulaic but this is becoming one of my late night faves (the album Every Waking Hour).
