Marvin Gaye - What's Going On (1971)


Curtis Mayfield - Super Fly (1972)


Roy Ayers - Coffy (1973)


Al Green - Let's Stay Together (1972)

There are plenty more I could mention but all of those should be on your must-listen list of classic soul albums.
