It goes deeper than that too. That album opened the door and encouraged artists like Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Curtis Mayfield and the O'Jays to exersize some freedom with their music, while the production on the album set the sound for 70's soul.
'Hot Buttered Soul' should be in everyone's top 10. |

i could give you 10-15 soul singers and songs,anna king,mamma's got a bag of her own, betty lavette,let me down easy,jackie wilson,no pity in the naked city theolore kilgore, oh lord what are you doing to me,bobby byrd, i know you got soul, hank ballard, on the love side,spencer wiggins,soul city u.s.a.,r.dean taylor, ghost in my house, robert parker,barefoot'n , try and track them down,
