A relatively new band that use old school recording techniques to stay true to that classic sound we all know and love. They drift into funk but I actually put them on there for you hoping you may check them out. Here they are and bloody great they are too:

Pretty nice. Reminds me a lot of a band I used to work with called Wise Monkey Orchestra, ironically enough.

The music is so great, and I love Heron's spoken word on The Revolution will not be Televised, but the singing is just awful.

Okay...now... For someone who is looking to get into Funk, what are ten albums that I just cannot go without hearing? I think the only Funk album I've heard is Maggot Brain, which I loved.

Not an area I'm huge on (I need some more myself), but here are my favourites;

Funkadelic - One Nation Under a Groove
Ohio Players - Skin Tight
- Honey
Quantic Soul Orchestra - Stampede
Parliament - Funkentelechy vs. the Placebo Syndrome
A Certain Ratio - I'd Like To See You Again [has shades of post-punk/acid house about it, which makes it extra awesome]

KEEP IN MIND THAT MY COLLECTION OF SOUL ALBUMS ISN'T EXTENSIVE AT ALL AND I'M NOT AS KNOWLEDGABLE ON THE GENRE AS MANY OF YOU AND I'M PROBABLY GONNA LOOK STUPID SAYING SOME OF MY CHOICES, BUT THESE ARE MY FAVORITES OF WHAT I DO HAVE
i'm including greatest hits too

Stevie Wonder-Songs In The Key of Life
Sly & The Family Stone-Stand!(I consider it more soulful than funky)
Marvin Gaye-What's Going On
The Temptations-Greatest Hits Vol 1 & 2
The O'Jays-Back Stabbers
Isley Brothers-Essential Isley Brothers
Jamiroquai-Emergency on Planet Earth
Hall & Oates-Private Eyes(yes, i'm including Hall & Oates in this, and you can go **** yourself if you don't like it)
Michael Jackson-Off The Wall(MJ too)
Simply Red-Stars(them too)

but yeah, feel free to point and laugh while i go sulk in a corner
