I totally confess to not getting the whole Amy Winehouse thing... in any way, shape or form...
|
I have been inspiring her back to black.
If she could come back, I am ready to be black. |

Well, skaltezon, here we are in the other thread, since a moderator decided that Amy's Death thread can only contain sentiments like "R.I.P." (as if there were or is peace after death). What do you feel about Amy Winehouse's death? :) I wonder...if Amy Winehouse had been a mass murderer musician, would people allow a thread about her death to contain any gleeful gloating or disrespect? As you recall, some people over in the "Amy Winehouse Pronounced Dead" thread weren't very sympathic toward her since she was addicted to alcohol and other drugs. I wrote in a post that the mods deleted that I wish people who feel Winehouse got what she deserved would recall the words of former First Lady Betty Ford (recently deceased): Quote:
Finally, what do you think of Amy's music? I didn't like it. |

R.I.P. A living breathing drug jo... I mean, a wonderful musician.

No illegal drugs in Amy's system when she died!
I just read that Amy Winehouse had no illegal drugs in her system when she died:

OT...The no drugs in her system news doesn't come as a surprise to me despite her track record. On her death one of my first thoughts to how she may have died turned to alcohol withdrawal. She tried to quit alcohol far too quickly by going cold turkey. Not a great idea. |

R.I.P. Amy Winehouse. Wish she could've had more music to expose people to the talent she had
|
Her firs album, Frank, was pretty good. I am not sure about her second, never a big enough fan to really dive into her work. However, I will say that a few tracks, especially the hidden tracks Cherry and Mr. Magic, were damn good.

Moving the conversation alone, how good is Back In Black?
Rhetorical question. I know; it's brilliant. It's one of those critically acclaimed albums that may actually live up to the hype that has preceded it. Winehouse's vocals and sorrow-drenched style is sublime on the record. Recently, got the deluxe edition, which includes some interesting more up-beat tracks than one would consider the norm of Amy's work to have been. Although to me it's clear her best work was the downbeat soulful tracks like Tears Dry on Their Own, You Know I'm No Good and Back in Black which lends its name to the album. |
 Talent. Legend. Goddess.

Fantastic artist who did not respect herself as she should have. RIP
|
I LOVE her......

The track Valerie which was a collab with Mark Ronson is Quality and I suggest you guys check it out...

OMG Amy Winehouse in the Soul n Funk section, NO!

Not Amy but equally as talented... |
I DO really like her lyrics but the music isnt soulful or funky. I always thought she was trying to sound like she was from 1940s radio. Is that natural?
|
As Amy Winehouse's music can basically be described as Soul Jazz it can either go in one thread or the other.
As I don't feel like moving it it's staying in this one. |
As it should.
|
I think she wanted to be more of a modern day version of The Ronettes.
|
This is my favorite song by her:
She was such an amazing talent, gone to soon :( |

Best Amy Winehouse song?

Hi guys! Why here is so silent a long time? Think I can say that I`m her fan. Sad part I heard about Amy only in 2013 after she passed away.
|
I was so busy yesterday and almost forgot. 10 years ago was released legendary album "Back to Black".
|
Uploaded today on Amy`s official channel
and |
Didn't expect they will drop more lyric videos.
