The rest of the album is better than rehab. And yes, she totally needs rehab and a sandwich.

28lulu82 07-11-2007 12:35 PM

download link for the full cd anyone?

SweetSamBlues 07-11-2007 03:09 PM

its definitely refreshing

28lulu82 07-11-2007 10:54 PM

listened to it and liked it very much, the woman's got a voice!

Imonlydancing 07-12-2007 04:46 AM

when i first heard 'rehab', i hated it ! they played it on Radio 2 - Terry Wogan - almost every morning for about a week (I get a lift to school, i have to listen to it, ha) but then she grew on me and i absolutely love hers and mark ronson's version of valerie.

Julesio 07-31-2007 07:38 AM

She's awesome, but do you think she belongs on the Jazz/Blues board? I think she's more of a soul artist.

right-track 07-31-2007 07:59 AM

Soul is Jazz and Blues.
The kind she sings anyway and besides she is a jazz singer.

MHDTV 08-04-2007 07:08 PM

I think she's horrible. Her song structure is boring and repetitive, she has an annoying deep voice, and absolutely terrible lyrics. But she's different, I'll give her that.

DearJenny 08-04-2007 10:51 PM

I liked Rehab and liked it. I heard a few other songs and didnt really like them as much as Rehab.

MHDTV 08-04-2007 10:53 PM

I think it's one of the worst executed songs ever. It could have been an Under the Bridge type song insomeone else's hands, but she turned it into a horrible happy go-lucky pop song.

i get high sometimes 08-04-2007 10:55 PM

I'm pretty happy. :)

you ****s. quit editing my posts.

i get high sometimes 08-04-2007 11:17 PM

anyway, i heard this chick like, earlier this year when i was on an airplane on the sky radio and i thought it was a cool original sound, and then i landed in the airport and the cover of rolling stone had here on it and she looked good, so i bought it. and now i think she is crazy (like, out of her mind crazy) and moderately good looking.

MHDTV 08-04-2007 11:26 PM

I hate her voice...It just pisses me off. The lyrics are just don't go with the rest of the music. Her songwriting is decent, but everything else is meh.

dhood8083 08-20-2007 06:25 PM

I really like to sound of this song and the "I'm No Good" song ( at least I think that is the title). I enjoy the Motown sound, the drums, horn section, strings, etc. It is nice to hear music instead of keyboard and drum programs.

Son of JayJamJah 08-20-2007 10:58 PM

Great Sound, Great voice, but both albums have a lot of weak tracks.

I agree with Dhood, the Motown-esque sound I very pleasing.

BluesyRican 08-27-2007 06:37 PM

This girl is sexy in my mind for some reason, her voice and just the overall vibe of her music...good ****. Better than the other crap getting put out in the mainstream.

BBC NEWS | Entertainment | Transcript: Amy Winehouse's father

It all happened on 5 Live today. ^

Incredible talk show moment.

Sparky 08-30-2007 02:30 PM

my sisters boyfriend was at some party thing with her and she asked him to get her cocaine xD

my bro talked to him on the phone and he was like "this girl will be dead in 5 months"

pheurton 09-01-2007 01:13 PM

ArtistInTheAmbulance 09-01-2007 01:40 PM

Brock Landers 09-01-2007 11:32 PM

Yeah its too bad she is turning out to be a total junkie. Maybe I should pick up her album, she might be dead soon.

Son of JayJamJah 09-03-2007 07:53 PM

They tried to make her go to rehab and she said ...Fine

wait...er

nevermind

DearJenny 09-04-2007 12:28 PM

^Yeah I thought its quite ironic that shes going in and out of rehab but she wrote a song about NOT going to Rehab.

^ Now that's ironic.

Her parents and in laws are encouraging fans not to buy her stuff.

Lateralus1019 09-04-2007 02:04 PM

I hope that jew OD's :wavey:

joyboyo53 09-04-2007 02:47 PM

^ ouch thats a low blow. however, i really dislike her music wish she would go to rehab and stop making music.

Sparky 09-04-2007 02:58 PM

im starting to get annoyed with her

a reporter goes "so what do you think of people describing your music is very pro-women and for womens rights?"

and she goes

"well i still like to do my nails and stuff"

like what the **** does that have to do with anything?
she sounds a lot smarter in her music :(

right-track 09-04-2007 04:09 PM

She's a "great" and like most greats, she's flawed.

If she gets herself back on track she'll grow musically and if not, then one of the greatest female soul vocalists I've heard in a long, long time, will be lost.

Being a lover of 60's soul, when I first heard her sing, for me it seemed too good to be true.
Straight out of the old school, but with a modern attitude.
I never thought I'd see the day when a female vocalist with so much talent, would roll back the years with an authentic sound in the way she has.

I couldn't care less what kind of a person she is, so long as she doesn't waste the talent she has.

Sparky 09-04-2007 04:14 PM

not me, i have to actually like the person somewhat for me to like her music :-/

she comes off as a 16 year old crackhead when shes not on stage :-/

littleknowitall 09-06-2007 01:38 PM

Wel i think she's great, can't fault anything to do with her music. Pretty girl, great voice, great mix of music, i couldn't give a **** what she was on.

Son of JayJamJah 09-06-2007 03:04 PM

Judged on her music she has phenomenal potential, judged by her actions she's not going to live long enough to reach it.

jackhammer 09-06-2007 04:03 PM

Her debut is much better than Back To Black. considering she was 19 when recording frankie was phenomenal. I'm not a huge Jazz fan, but she has dragged the genre into the mainstream.

Other musicians/artists have done far worse and have lived long enough.

MURDER JUNKIE 09-06-2007 04:11 PM

That bitch is nuttier than squirrel shit

bgurl3192 09-15-2007 12:43 PM

soulful....doubt it, amy winehouse is a cheap imatation of soul. real soul singers can actually sing more than 2 notes for example aretha franklin, gladys knight, and many more. in my opinion there aren't really any soul singers out today.

Are you tone deaf?
Only 2 notes!
Surely you mean octaves?

Of which she can reach a reported 5!

Winehouse is the genuine article. A singer with true talent and every bit as good as the greats you mentioned.
In fact, I'd say she was a sight more versatile, if anything.

Son of JayJamJah 09-15-2007 06:38 PM

Yes lack of range is certainly not a problem for miss winehouse

djchameleon 09-16-2007 01:48 AM

I have no idea why everyone loves this overrated bitch that blows soo much live

^ This taken from the year she broke.
Sober and clean.
I have no idea why people can't see she has obvious and undoubted talent.
Singing a Dinah Washington (she was no angel either) song in the style of the great Billie Holiday and Sarah Vaughan.
Both of whom had serious drug problems and their place in music has never been in doubt.
