the detroit spinners, i'll always love you, soul group par excellence, championed by the northern soul scene...

Brilliant song.
The Spinners were also known as the Motown Spinners, then to Detroit Spinners after leaving Motown.

babara trent, heartbreak hotel, great funky reworking of elvis's classic track, it's been reissued on the jazzman records, as a 7 inch single, and on the sister funk 2 album....

coming to the shelves shortly, £13 for a cd, £18 for a double vinyl album, should be a good listen, as keb darge is very knowledgeable, but i think Weller's choices could 've been a little more obscure, he seems to have played safe..

Interested to see what Weller chose. What's on the album?

here you go right track, some of his choices are good, but on the whole i would've been expecting more rarer tracks, let me know what you think...

Goodfoot, you really need to start a member journal.

Yeah, not much there that isn't already known. Not surprised in the slightest that Tammi Terrell's, 'All I Do Is Think about You' was included.
In fact I would have put my mortgage on that song being in there. Weller went on record naming it as his favourite all time soul track.
There's enough on it for me to buy it though.
Thanks for that and the great blog link.

Also +1 for what SATCHMO said. You need a journal.
