Default Good ORIGINAL Motown

Can somebody give me some good Original Motown artists? I have already got some of The Funk Brothers, but I want more.

Do you mean artists like Smokey Robinson etc, or in-house musicians similar to the Funk Brothers?

Well, if by in-house you mean, the musicians that made the music for the artists then sure.

I mean, if anything, give me album names or something. Maybe asking for artists is to vague.

The answer to that as far as Motown goes, is pretty much The Funk Brothers.
You'll be staggered by the amount of Motown hits they performed on.

BBC - h2g2 - The Funk Brothers - The Motown Backing Band

Lists some of the Funk Brothers musicians.
All top class players.

A lot of the musicians for Motown did a lot of 'moonlighting' for some of the smaller labels to earn a bit of extra money.
Motown is a bit too tame for my tastes, I much prefer the less polished 60's soul that's out there.

my name comes from james jamerson who was the motown bass player and quite probably the greatest bass player to have ever played pop music. influenced everybody after him.

id just listen to what the funk brothers did to elevate artists like the miracles, stevie wonder, the supremes, the jackson 5, and marvin ***e rather than seek out any records they made themselves if i were you.

So the funk Brothers were to Motown what Booker T & the MGs were to Stax? ( I think its stax, I might be wrong)
