Marcus Miller

Probably one of the few great funk bass virtuosos I hadn't fully submerged myself into learning everything about But I started learning run for cover earlier, had to stop because the tv went on but since all ive listened to in my left headphone (the working one) Is marcus miller, any fans, anyone who would like to maybe PM me a link to something that might help to get me more into Marcus Miller without having to use youtube, *wink wink nudge nudge*

I don't actually have any Marcus Miller albums, but I have his Master of All Trades concert which is pretty good. That guy has great feel.

Another good jazz/funk/rnb solo bassist is Terrance Palmer. Not on Marcus Miller's level, but still good.

I have'nt heard Marcus Miller. I remember hearing a Stanley clarke album years ago and it was funky as hell! cannot for the life of me think what it was called. I was in a band for a while and the bassist was really into stuff like Clarke and Jaco Pastorious. He introduced me a lot of jazz/funk bass stuff but I was a young lad and let it go over my head!

Foolish you mate! Stanley clarke is great, actually surprised I haven seena thread, or one for graham central station, or sly and the family stone, the jackson 5, marcus miller etc. I also think someone should make a thread about bella fleck & the flecktones. I'd make them but I'm sure there's someone here who'd do it more justice.

Regarding Marcus - not sure about him being revolutionary. I see him as very talented, I have enjoyed colaborations with Luthur, Joe Sample, Me'shell Ndegéocello as well as his own work. I didn't mention him being in Miles band because he was still a pup then.
