r&b soul,from the 60's&70's...

the early seventies were almost as soulful as the sixties with groups like..the ebonys-the stylistics-black ivory-the 8th day-the persuasions-the honeycone-the three degrees-tavares-rufus,who kept the soul rolling.

Dave davani four, 60t's London mod influenced band, with a heavy slice of Hammond tinged r&b, just discovered this little beaut' CD is on it's way as i type, groovy times ahead!!!

Billy Hawks, Oh baby i'm losing you, hails from New Jersey, this quality hammond r&b track dates from the late 60t's, oozes class...

Ella Fitzgerald, these boots are made for walking, the first lady of jazz delivers a resounding cover of the song made popular by Nancy Sinatra, needless to say the mods have made it their own...

My favorite Tammi Terrell song (and that's saying a lot) - her voice had that soaring, featherlight quality, with an underlying power that seemed to "lift" it.

^ Never tire of hearing this song.
It gives me goosebumps every time. Straight from the opening lines.
It has a dreamy quality that has me floating on air while staring into space.
A genuinely touching song, full of soul.
Mesmerizing!

You're in good company. It's Paul Weller's favourite too.

Is it really? No surprise there, Weller has great taste in music. Good company indeed.
