the high numbers, here t'is, leaving here, zoot suit, i'm the face, brilliant r&b from early who, the quality was allways there, pity there wasn't more r&b by the band in this great raw bluesy mood..

This from 1966 which enjoyed some popularity as a dancer at the Wigan Casino.
Not a particular favourite of mine, but it's an interesting tune and something of a classic.
Ron Grainer did a version (someone Urban should be aware of) along with several theme tunes for TV...Joe 90, The Prisoner and Tales of the Unexpected, among others.

Ohio Players-Skin Tight. (my personal favorite, not taking anything from 'Fire' & 'Love Rollercoaster'). YouTube - Ohio Players- Skin Tight

Average White Band-Cut The Cake. (AWB showed that they could Funk with the best of them)

YouTube - Average White Band - Cut The Cake (live)

Brothers Johnson-Get The Funk Outta Ma Face. (one of the best on bass guitar)

YouTube - The Brothers Johnson Get Da Funk Out Ma' Face

Ohio Players-Sweet Sticky Thing. (the ohio players were very jazz orientated, sweet sticky thing is my #1 favorite, the ohio players style of music closely resembles the jazz style of steely dan).

YouTube - The Ohio Players Sweet Sticky Thing

The Isley Brothers=Livin' In The Life. YouTube -

LIVIN' IN THE LIFE - THE ISLEY BROTHERS (1977)

(the history of the Isely's go way back to the early 60s minus, the Isley Brothers, & others, produced some of the best Soul & Funk music of the 70s).

junior wells, shake it baby, great r&b dancer, great to here when your at a mod/soul night, when it's slid in between a few soul numbers, the mood on the dance floor shakes, a good dj knows when to change the vibe...

junior wells, stomach ache, same as above, great r&b dancer, a mod cub classic....

mitch ryder, cc rider, r&b from detroit, with a little garage rock'n roll through in to the mix, one of my favourite 60t's groups, they had great energy, you fell it pumping right through your veins...

Inner City Blues (Make Me Wanna Holler) Marvin ***e, (as always you can hear the turbulance of the streets, war, & civil rights, etc. with Marvin ***e). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjKFCYzqq-A
Paliament Funkadelic-We want the funk, ( Parliaments most popular song).
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-Uwm45TINkI
Parliament Funkadelic-"Dr. Funkenstein", (this song even more defines the attitude & personality of Paliament).
