I have to say that title track aside, I was a little disappointed in the album Maggot Brain. Maybe I should give it another listen.

2 clips of the original Parliaments/Funkadelic from 1969.
This is rare footage where thay ask in the second clip, "Mommy what's a Funkadlelic"

On top of that I probably prefer the Parliament stuff overall, their early albums are deliberately more r'n'b-based but albums like Mothership Connection and Funkentelechy vs. the Placebo Syndrome are just as concept-trippy as anything Funkadelic had to offer... Not to mention better-produced and more accomplished. Still - you can't argue with Eddie Hazel on geetar. |
