Does Anyone Know How to Write a Melody?
My brother and I are producing an album together and it looks pretty good. I do vocals and write lyrics, he takes care of most of the instrumentation; it's going well. The problem is that neither of us can write a good melody. Does anyone have any tips or anything?

"Hey, man, we've got a great band going, we've all got leather jackets and tons of coke and guitars we bought at a garage sale, too bad all our songs sound like 'Little Bunny Fifi'".

Learn as many chord progressions as you can. Pick a key, find a chord progression you like, and as long you are picking notes that fall within that scale and notes are compatible with the chord your on, the melody practically writes itself.
