Sounds like the definition of a musician to me.

She's just doing what hundreds of hugely popular artists have done before her - surrounding themselves with the best supporting cast as possible.

Her last album lists a total of 6 additional writers along with Swift. One being guest artist Imogen Heap who IMO doesn't really count.

The Beatles debut album, Please Please Me, had 14 different songwriters. With the Beatles had 15.

So the amount of contribution an artist has to a piece of music that has their name on it doesn't matter squat, as long as they're the one performing it and its making money nobody cares, even them? And nobody should...?

Why should you care? It's not affecting your enjoyment of the music.

I thought there was more to being a musician than just performing.. It doesn't mean that people who don't write their own songs aren't talented but they definitely do not deserve as much respect or credit as people who do it all themselves.. at least in my opinion.

So in your view Green Day are better musicians than Yehudi Menuhin because they write their own stuff.

OK then.

You are way oversimplifying the issue to justify your dislike of Swift IMO.

Name me 5 artists who you feel are worthy because they do it all themselves.
