Mass Romantic

Verse 1
He says "It's all about love"
With relaxed confidence
To a curious disbeliever
It's a notion many are unfamiliar with
So he explains himself delicately
He doesn't want to convince you of anything
As we all believe whatever we want
"I'm just giving my opinion on the most important thing"
"Love is everything" He said

Verse 2
Lovers and all who are adequately loved
Are part of a giant club
It's not exclusive, anyone can join
The benefits are plenty
Being inspired has a domino effect
Others will want to learn what you know
Word gets around about the most important thing
Even when it's difficult to find

Verse 3
"It's what I need" He said with a grin
Leaving the disbeliever confused
"Without it, life is not worth living"
"I want love in abundance" He said
With a slightly raised voice
Whether it's hugs and kisses or hand-holding
It's beautiful in every form
If disbelievers remain skeptical
Perhaps it's not their time
To know what love is

Chorus
It's in everyone who agrees and disagrees
Traces of it linger in thoughts and deeds
You can resist and push it away
But mass romantic is here and it will stay
It's the reason why we breathe

Don't Come Knocking

Verse 1
I'm not charmed by your offerings
And as such I enjoy every sandwich
Keeping my sanity intact is important
So I exclude myself from your madness
Distance creates empty spaces
which I'm able to fill with what I want
And the things I need
You better tend to your own backyard
As the trash you've created
Is becoming a mountain

Verse 2
I don't struggle with addictions
Being alone doesn't mean that I'm lonely
What runs through my veins is true blood
I don't pretend to be somebody I'm not
You can't wound me with your words
They're meaningless just like everything you do
I strive for understanding and stillness of mind
There's just no other way for me to be

Bridge
Don't come knocking
Sorry, haters
You can't take my eyes
You can't carry me down
I won't consume the fat of the land
I'm interested in catching the moon
An ambulance is on the way
if you can't deal with rejection
I won't be yours to hold
I won't be yours to break
Whatever people I am
That's what I'm not

Chorus
Even though I'm different than most
You think you really know me
My complexities are far beyond your reach
I live in a metropolis of passion and ideas
I become visible to who I am
Don't come knocking, for I won't answer

Kingdom of Ten Thousand Things

Verse 1
Kingdom of ten thousand things
Rock, paper, scissors
Winners, losers and those who don't compete
Flaunt your strengths, disguise your weaknesses
How you want to be perceived must always be seen

Verse 2
Kingdom of ten thousand things
Rock, paper, scissors
Leaders, followers and those on the sidelines
Speak of your creed and your idols
Let us cast votes to decide
Who gets a chance at survival
Black and white and grey
Everything else in between that's open to interpretation
Based on facts or intuition
Build a case
Then watch it fall down like a deck of cards

Bridge
The weight of the world could bury me into the ground
Only if I wanted it to
The height of my fears could swallow me whole
If it wasn't for simple truths and illusions
Kingdom of ten thousand things
Winners, losers, leaders, followers
And all who are nameless
Remind us who you all are

Chorus
Whisper into my ears
The sweetest dreams you've conjured up
Fill my head with fairy tales
Disarm me with your glare
And soon enough your touch will be all that I'll ever want

Avalanche

Verse 1
Rolling down
Down towards me
Covering me with its destruction
I deserve it
This massive blanket of snow
Because I know that I've done wrong

Verse 2
Gasping for air
As I struggle to breathe
This pain is far less than I deserve
Digging my way out is futile
I've played the game
Now I'm paying the price
Be still, my heart
Seek that elusive silence
Memories burn deep into my core

Verse 3
Temperature drops
Darkness settles in
The end is near for me
I can sense it
Rolled down
Down towards me
Covered me with its destruction
Cold, cold grave
My final resting place
I'd smile if I weren't frozen

Chorus
Avalanche
Mighty avalanche, Mighty avalanche
Avalanche

Where The Humans Eat

Verse 1
This is where the humans eat
They take advantage of the buffet
One serving of CNN
Two plates of The New York Times
This is where they come to feast
It begins when they wake up in the morning
They have a bowl of Katie Couric
Three slices of The Washington Post
A sprinkle of The Drudge Report
This is where they fill their stomachs

Bridge 1
On the weekends, they don't hold back
Wal-Mart rolls back sound judgement
Sears captures their attention
The ringing sound you hear is 'Ka-Ching!"

Verse 2
This is where they stuff their faces
Consuming as much as they can afford to
More than one billion have been served
They never close - no wonder they're still cooking
Profits increase quarter after quarter
It's hard to choose between Honda and Ford
But when you're Warren Buffet it makes no difference
Thousands work in drug marts
Even though they tell us that drugs are bad
This is where they smell, chew and swallow

Bridge 2
Winners convinces them to spend
So they won't end up like others
If you make your bed
Then you'll be forced to sleep in it

Verse 3
This is where they become gluttons
Taking whatever they desire
Virginities and freedom of choice
Sometimes both at the same time
This is where lust is satisfied
This is where addiction lives
Walking right into death's house
They can never escape once they're inside
It's just like Hotel California
This is where the humans die

Bridge 3
Ringtones and cameras are winning the popularity contest
More votes are cast on American Idol
Than in a federal election

Chorus
This is where the humans eat
This is where they come to feast
This is where they fill their stomachs
This is where they stuff their faces
This is where they smell, chew and swallow
This is where they become gluttons
This is where lust is satisfied
This is where addictions lives
This is where the humans die

American Life

Verse 1
Is it the land of the free?
Is it the home of the brave?
Is it one nation under God?
If all of that is true
Why is life expensive there?
Why are many people so afraid?
Why is the nation divided?
Has God really blessed America?

Verse 2
Celebrities are worshipped
People want the inside scoop
They want to know details about their personal lives
But if the tables were turned
Would you want to be splashed on magazine covers?
Would you want to be talked about on the internet?

Verse 3
I'll sue you at the drop of a hat
I'll cook the books
I'll hate you one day
Then love you the next
I will claim to be a Christian
But support the death penalty
I believe in the Constitution
But there's no justice for all
Should I call the cops if someone's stalking me?
Or do I have to worry if they're corrupt?

Verse 4
I pledge allegiance to no one
It is within my right to do so
I am a real patriot
Let's go bomb the ones who hate us
Let's celebrate our melting pot
And be ashamed of our differences
Let's lie and cheat and cast blame
All this madness is driving me insane

Chorus
American life
Carrying weapons in the ghetto
Swimming in the suburb
Raising children on the farmland
This is as real as it gets

So Much For The City

Verse 1
This city is just not for me
It was never filled with possibilities
Everywhere I go
Is a place I should have never been
Curiosity got the best of me
I won't look back
Homeless people walk up to me
They get in my face begging for money
They dirty up the streets
They don't want to get a job
Who the hell cares
Cause they'll soon no longer bother me

Verse 2
Dying is never a choice
But living life certainly is
So I choose to feel alive
For the rest of my days
And I will get a chance to
Only if I'm far, far away

Bridge
The soul of the city is colder than its winter season
Icicles pierced what was remaining of its barren heart
Snow has blocked its eyesight
The blind are leading everyone into eternal hibernation
That's why the Queen owns this nation

Chorus 1
So much for the city
That never was the place
I thought it would be
Politicos and special interests rule
I'm escaping from the clutches of their stupidity
So much for the city

Chorus 2
So much for the city
That never was the place
I thought it would be
Politicos and special interests rule
I'm escaping from the clutches of their stupidity
I refuse to live under this maddening authority
So much for the city

Chorus 3
So much for the city
That never was the place
I thought it would be
Politicos and special interests rule
So much for the city

Linger Awhile

Verse 1
Linger awhile
There's no rush to leave
Moment to moment
Should be take in

Verse 2
Follow me
Though I don't know where I'm going
Rest assured
It'll put your mind at ease
Time has made a change in you
The world keeps turning

Verse 3
It was a long night
This will be a big day
We'll go east to west and back again
If you get close
You can hear the quietness in your mind
There's no greater thrill
Than the wonder in your eyes

Verse 4
All who compete against the clock
Seldom realize that their lives are ticking away
Disobey the orders of your calender
We've got time to burn
Let's go real slow
Let's linger awhile

Chorus
Look not at the time
But what's around you
Linger awhile

Bedrooms

Verse 1
Bedrooms
Where you and I can have fun
You'd come again and again
Oh bedrooms
Nothing needed except for a bed
Climbing on and jumping off for hours on end

Verse 2
Bedrooms
Where you and I can explore
If your roomie worked more
I'd come again and again
Oh bedrooms
Nothing needed except for a bed
Sitting down and standing up for hours on end

Verse 3
Bedrooms
Discovering you, discovering me
Where nobody else can see
We'd do it again and again
Oh bedrooms
Nothing needed except for a bed
Climbing on and jumping off
Sitting down and standing up

Chorus
In bedrooms we'll be alone
Nothing will interrupt us
I'd gladly lay myself down for you
I'll be the pig that wants to be eaten
In bedrooms we'll be alone
Everything else will be locked away
You'll be the wild animal I've never known

Take London

Verse 1
You're here, watch it unfold
The battle for the city is a daring move
It's bold
Falling palace, bring it down
The mighty are weaker than they let on
Revolt and they'll be gone
You're here, open your eyes
Look around at the city you despise
Burning palace
Let it crumble till it no longer stands
The mighty are losing their strength
Revolt and bury them into the ground

Verse 2
You're here, resist blinking
The old city is sinking
Her days on the world stage are winding down
Spit out your rage
Glass palace, smash it to bits
The mighty aren't invincible
Revolt and breakaway
You're here
That's reason enough to create history
Makeover the city
Ancient palace, re-model it
The mighty will be exiled to a foreign land

Chorus 1
T-T-T-T Take London
London is ours forevermore
T-T-T-T Take London
Royalty is such a bore
T-T-T-T Take London

Chorus 2
T-T-T-T Take London
What's seen was hidden before
T-T-T-T Take London
Maddening authority - I'll live under it no more
T-T-T-T Take London
