I write songs in French (okay, this isn't a problem for me, lol) and in English. I just want you to correct my mistakes, if possible. I'll put the lyrics in next messages, after this one. Thank you for your help :) cigalechou :) |

I'll put the lines that don't sound quite right to me in English in bold, and I'll offer alternatives that do. I've just some questions : I don't understand what "Maybe you cared for me a little?" means. (In my song, I wanted to ask him if I took a place in his heart. Does it means the same ?) And for the sentence "But you were all for me", can I say "But you brought me all" ? Thank you :) |

I feel you could say, "Did I have a place in your heart?" (rather than did I "take" a place in your heart), but then you'll be repeating the word "heart" quite a lot in the song. I think that if someone says he cares for you a little, this means you have a place in his heart...but just a little place! :p: "But you were all for me" sounds awkward to me, so I would probably say, "You meant everything to me," or "You gave me everything." "You brought me all" sounds odd, but sweet, and I know what you mean by it. |
