Where have the times gone?
 

Here's one of my first songs I've written (put in the chords so you get a better sense of timing), it's basically about how my friends and I used to live such a wild life, but now that most of them are in college I'm sitting at home with the feeling of nostalgia.

That's it so far. One of my first so don't be too harsh, but what do you think its missing ? You think it makes sense?

I'm just wondering what a "head file" is.

Supposed to be like head case, but it didn't rhyme with while :p you think there's a better word that goes with file?

What I do in my songs is ask "why" a lot. For instance, why do you feel nostalgia? Why were those times so good? We the listeners/readers don't know, and your music/poetry comes to life in the details.

I like it - for the line "A hooligan or maybe a head file?" How about changing it to "A hooligan in denial?" or "A headcase in denial?" or "Am I crazy or just hostile?" or "I feel like a mental patient on trial" or "A hooligan with a crazy smile" or "I'm out of touch, out of style" or "I'm out of touch, in denial".

I use RhymeZone rhyming dictionary and thesaurus a lot, and also an online Thesaurus. Anyway, I like your concept, and the lyrics sound like they might have a good hook. You should record a version and upload it, I'm interested to see how you sing it. :)
