What's the difference between rap lyrics and poetry lyrics?
 

Hi,

I was wondering if rap lyrics are written different than poetry rhymes? I have a character that is a rapper, but I'm not sure how to write the lyrics.

There may not necessarily be a difference. Check out Outkast's "SpottieOttieDopalicious". But if I had to clarify it, I would say rap lyrics need a stronger structure, whereas poetry can be more free-form.
